[yellow tail] has been awarded five gold medals at Germany’s prestigious international wine show, the 2011 Mundus Vini. Three out of the five award‐winning wines were Chardonnay varieties including 2010 [yellow tail] Chardonnay, 2010 [yellow tail] Tree‐Free Chardonnay (an un‐oaked style) and 2010 [yellow tail] Reserve Chardonnay.

Mundus Vini is the largest officially recognised wine competition in the world with more than 6,000 wines entered from around the world in 2011. The wines are evaluated and awarded points based on appearance, smell, taste and harmony/overall impression. No more than onethird of wines entered are given awards ranging from gold, silver and bronze.

The judging panel is made up of German and international oenologists, wine analysts, wine retailers, sommeliers, restaurateurs and wine journalists from over 50 nations.

Mundus Vini shares a 10th anniversary milestone with [yellow tail] this year – both were created in 2001 and, in such a short time, have contributed much to the global wine industry.

John Casella, founder of [yellow tail] was delighted to receive news of the five gold medals, especially the three for Chardonnay.

“The [yellow tail] Chardonnay was one of the first varieties we launched with in 2001 and it is now our number one selling product with more than 2 million cases enjoyed around the world every year. Consumers enjoy [yellow tail] Chardonnay and an award like this helps to show that the world’s leading industry experts also appreciate the wine’s quality.

“This win is testament to the value of [yellow tail] Chardonnay and its consistent quality across all three of our Chardonnay products. Such a prestigious gold medal for a wine in the sub $10* category is very exciting,” said John.

[yellow tail] Tree‐Free Chardonnay (RRP $10.00AU) is the newest Chardonnay product to join the portfolio. It is an un‐oaked wine, given a quirky name by a consumer in the USA. It displays zesty flavours of fresh lime, citrus and grapefruit. The wine is crisp and fresh with a mouthwatering finish. [yellow tail] Tree‐Free Chardonnay will be available in Australia over the next two months.

[yellow tail] Reserve Chardonnay (RRP $14.99AU) is made from fruit sourced from cool climate regions around Australia. It is matured in oak barrels to achieve a good balance of bright citrus fruit flavours and soft, creamy vanilla notes. The premium nature of this product makes it a good upgrade for special occasions.
