Casella appoints new Fiji distributor

Casella Wines partner with new distributor in Fiji

Casella Wines has appointed Lawhill Limited to distribute [yellow tail] throughout Fiji and the surrounding islands.

Casella Wines is 100% owned by the Casella family who launched [yellow tail] in 2001 and now export to more 50 countries around the world. [yellow tail] is widely considered one of Australia’s biggest wine success stories having grown from producing 500,000 cases in 2001 to today producing 12 million cases every year in order to meet global popularity and demand.

The partnership with Lawhill Limited comes at a time that sees Australian wine exports to Fiji growing steadily. In the financial year of 2008 (FY08), the value of wine export to Fiji was $7.16million, in FY09 it grew by $220,000 to $7.38million and in FY10 it grew a further $170,000 to $7.55million. Fiji is currently experiencing significant growth in visitor numbers, particularly from Australians, who regard Fiji as a safe and pleasant destination.

According to John Casella, Managing Director of Casella Wines, joining with Lawhill Limited is an exciting step for the family business.

Lawhill Limited is a diverse company with many interests in Fiji, particularly the hospitality industry. Operating since 1988, they have provided many on‐and‐off premise establishments with fine wines and spirits. Lawhill also produce “Fiji Coffee” and supply 95% of the tourism sector in Fiji.
